Women are Strong, Fierce, and Unstoppable

Lets Celebrate Women’s Strength Through Fitness

This whole month isn’t just another month. It’s a reminder that women are strong, resilient, and unstoppable. With International Women’s Day on March 8th, there’s no better time to step into our power, own our health, and embrace fitness as a form of self-love.

For a long time, women have been told to be small, to shrink themselves—physically and metaphorically. But fitness flips the script. Strength training, running, yoga, boxing—whatever form of movement is for you—is not just about aesthetics; it’s about power. It’s about proving (mostly to ourselves) that we are limitless.

Exercise is more than just a workout, it is a declaration that your body is yours, that you are worthy of care, and that strength physically and mentally is your birthright.

Mothers Rising and Moving Forward

For mothers, fitness takes on an even deeper meaning. Pregnancy and childbirth are acts of strength unlike any other, yet women often face pressure to “bounce back” rather than move forward. Let’s change that narrative.

According to the CDC, only 24% of postpartum women meet the recommended physical activity levels, often due to lack of time, support, and societal pressure.  However, studies show that regular exercise post-pregnancy reduces stress, improves sleep, and decreases the risk of postpartum depression—all of which are game-changers for new mothers navigating one of life’s biggest transitions. I may add that Mamatime is a great place to make a change to the statistic and to start feeling your best during your postpartum journey.

At Mamatime, we’re committed to challenging these statistics and the unfair norms around postpartum activity levels. Mums deserves support, no matter their birth experience. That’s why we offer in-room baby support and individual guidance to help each mum navigate her own recovery, providing a safe and supported way back into exercise.

Let’s just make things clear postpartum fitness is not about erasing the evidence of motherhood. It’s about reclaiming your strength, honoring your body’s journey, and showing up for yourself in the same way you show up for others. Whether it’s a 10-minute stretch between feedings or a full-body workout, every effort is should be recognised by a victory.

So, you may ask how to Keep the Fire Burning?

Motivation can have its ups and downs, but discipline and community keep us going. Here are some ways to stay inspired this March:

  • Set Empowering Goals: Focus on what your body can do, not just how it looks.

  • Find Your Tribe: Join Mamatime or a like-minded community, online or in person, for accountability and sisterhood.

  • Celebrate Small Wins: Every step, every rep, every moment you choose movement is a win.

  • Enjoy your Movement: Dance, lift, or run. Do something that makes you feel alive, not just what burns calories.

This March, Move for You

Whether you are hitting the weights, going for a run, or rolling out your yoga mat, remember fitness is not just about muscles and endurance it is also about empowerment. This International Women’s Day let’s celebrate the strength that already exists within us and push ourselves to new heights.

Because when women move, the world moves with us.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.

Please do not forget we are hosting a fabulous retreat to celebrate mothership and celebrate the power within you at Sheedquarters Brighton on the 29th March from 2-5pm.
